About the Role

The Downtown Ingersoll Business Improvement Area (BIA) and the Ingersoll Chamber of Commerce are seeking a highly motivated, community-focused professional to support the growth, visibility, and sustainability of the local business community in Ingersoll.

This role plays a key part in strengthening collaboration between local businesses, community stakeholders, and partner organizations by supporting initiatives that enhance business engagement, communication, and community vitality.

The successful candidate will work across both organizations to help build strong relationships, support coordinated initiatives, and contribute to a vibrant and active business environment in Ingersoll.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Member Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison for BIA members and Chamber stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, community partners, and stakeholders
  • Support member engagement, participation, and awareness of programs and initiatives
  • Respond to inquiries and connect members with relevant supports and opportunities

Board Support & Governance Coordination

  • Coordinate and support regular Board and committee meetings for BIA
  • Prepare agendas, reports, meeting materials, and minutes
  • Support annual general meetings and special sessions, including logistics and documentation
  • Maintain accurate records and support governance processes in collaboration with partners

Communications, Marketing & Social Media

  • Manage day-to-day communications for both organizations across digital platforms
  • Develop engaging content that promotes local businesses, events, and initiatives
  • Maintain websites, email communications, and social media channels
  • Support promotional campaigns that enhance visibility of the downtown and business community

Events & Community Activation

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute events including networking sessions, community events, and promotional initiatives
  • Work with vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners to deliver successful events
  • Evaluate event outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support initiatives that enhance downtown vibrancy and business engagement

Administration & Operational Support

  • Support day-to-day administrative functions for both organizations
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and databases
  • Assist with budgeting, invoicing, and financial tracking as required
  • Collaborate with municipal and community partners where applicable

Role Summary

This position is a key connector within the Ingersoll business community, supporting collaboration between local businesses, organizations, and stakeholders. The Coordinator plays an important role in strengthening communication, supporting business engagement, and helping to foster a vibrant and connected downtown and business environment.

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

Qualifications

  • Experience in community engagement, coordination, administration, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with social media and digital communications platforms
  • Experience with grant writing or funding applications considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the Ingersoll business community is considered an asset

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position – 12 month contract
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required for meetings and events
  • Community-based role with active engagement across local business and partner networks

     

Wage Details

$26 - $33 per hour
