Job Description

This Summer Student position is to support a small office staff team with all aspects of special event planning, resource development planning, marketing and communications, data management, and general office administration. It requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work both as part of a team and independently. Activities include:

  • assisting with the organization of events, including the Day of Caring, by organizing supplies, donations, volunteers, etc;
  • managing the Supplies4Students program; 
  • promoting United Way’s programs, including 211, at community events, festivals, and with special interest groups; 
  • helping to prepare for fall workplace campaigns;
  • assisting with CRM data management; event research; 
  • and supporting the overall office administration, including reception.

 

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

Must be in post-secondary and planning to return in the fall.  Ideally suited for someone in the following types of programs: business, journalism, marketing/communications/PR, social sciences, etc.  Previous work experience in customer service fields an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

$18.00/hr
