Job Description
Located at 807 Pattullo Avenue, Woodstock, ON N4S 7W3.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Receiving steel coils as per “Procedure for Receiving” and “Control Plan – Buttwelding”
Competently executing the Mill change-over and setup in designated section(s) of the tube mill as per “Procedure for Buttwelding”, “Setup Chart for Buttwelding”, “Procedure on Mill Change-over” and “Mill Setup Chart”
Thoroughly understanding designated Buttwelding in the tube-making process
Efficiently performing designated Buttwelding tasks in the tube-making process as per “Procedures for Buttwelding” and “Control Plan – Buttwelding”
Visually inspecting and dimensionally verifying steel being used in the production run as per Control Plan - Buttwelding
Scanning coil tag numbers into the Nova system
Crane operation for movement of coils
Obtain samples from coils, when required, for tensile tests
Participate in mill changeover as required
Support tube mill through continuous run operation and coverage for absents
Performing general maintenance (ie. oiling, greasing, cleaning) on the equipment in designated section of the mill including rafts
House-keeping at designated work station
Complete changeover of rafts and turks head as per weekly schedule.
Set-up raft and turks head tooling as per roll gap design.
Inspect and clean all tooling from previous production run before replacing to tooling racks.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Forklift Training & Licensing
Crane/Lifting Device Training & Certification
Machine & Hand Tool Safety
Problem solving skills and must be able to adapt to situations quickly as needed
Safety hazard knowledge
Minimum 2-3 years Welding experience
Must posses a valid driver’s license
Basic understanding of mig and tig welding and roll forming
Minimum 2 to 3 years Experience in Buttweld Position
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Working Language English

Compensation and Benefits
RATE: $28.00 - $29.00. Performance review after 3 months; Yearly Performance Review; Potential for Year End Bonus
