Job Description

Employer seeking an experienced rebar estimator in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to oversee cost control and pricing strategies. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively negotiate contracts and manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all estimates.  Strong proficiency in spoken and written English to effectively collaborate with our team and clients.

Duties include:

  • Preparing estimates of the cost of materials, labour and equipment for a construction project
  • Understanding and reading schemes in order to make estimates of the cost of the project
  • Establishing and maintaining the tendering(bidding) process
  • Setting up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
  • Maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
  • Working with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on feasibility studies and making adjustments to the cost when needed
  • Managing and coordinating construction projects and preparing construction progress schedules

Education

Post Secondary Degree

Experience Required

  • Proven experience in rebar estimating, with a focus on commercial or residential projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with contracts, pricing strategies, and negotiation techniques.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools is preferred.
  • Prior experience working on construction sites is advantageous for understanding practical applications of estimates.

Compensation and Benefits

$20.00-$35.00 per hour based on experience.
