Job Description

Total Swine Genetics is a well-established boar stud located in Tillsonburg, Ontario with a great team. We house boars (male pigs) for our genetic partners and collect semen that is sold to our customers across Southwestern Ontario. Our barn team cares for the boars and collects semen on our 3 production days each week-Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

We are looking for a permanent full-time employee to work 3 production days (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) each week. As well as non-production days, Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

Duties:

-Feeding boars

-Moving boars from their pens to the collecting area

-Moving boars from the collecting area back to their pens

-Collect from boars

-Running collections to the lab

-Pressure washing and scraping behind boars

-Keeping general cleanliness in the barn; laundry, showers, bathrooms

 

Requirements:

-Must follow strict biosecurity protocols

-Must have a positive attitude and be willing to learn

-Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

-Must have a G license and reliable transportation 

-Must have a high school diploma

 

Shift details:

Shifts begin at 5:30 am and end when production ends (between 12:00-3:00 PM)

Production shifts are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Maintenance and extra animal husbandry tasks get completed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Pay: $20-$23 per hour

Expected hours: 35-40 per week
