Job Description

Timberland Equipment Limited is a Canadian-owned, entrepreneurial, globally recognized company located in Woodstock, Ontario, where we have been a fully operational 80,000 square foot facility with engineering, sales and manufacturing departments all under one roof since 1947.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE COOL PROJECTS DESIGNED AND BUILT

  • Hoists for the world’s second heaviest on-shore lifter at 13,000 tons
  • High speed winches and control system for a 2,000-foot artificial surfing pool
  • Gate hoists on the largest infrastructure project in Canada
  • Mechanical stage device for Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas
  • Shaft sinking winches with 110,000 lbs line pull for mining projects in Australia
  • Mooring and riser pull-in systems for multiple offshore energy projects world-wide
  • Hoists for aqueduct construction which supplies 50% of drinking water to New York City

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Fabricate new and replacement parts for manufactured equipment
  • Operation of manual machine shop equipment including lathes, drill presses and milling machines
  • Operation of CNC including lathe and vertical machine center horizontal boring mill
  • Use precision inspection and measuring tools
  • Perform minor machine maintenance

Experience Required

WHO YOU ARE

  • General understanding of conventional machining and CNC equipment; willingness to be placed in different aspects of machining environment

  • Operate manual lathes, boring mill, drill presses and CNC vertical machining center, Mazak turning center and Olympia boring mill

  • Working knowledge of Mastercam 

  • Advanced in blue print reading

  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving 

  • Possess clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Work in a co-operative group atmosphere   

  • Have own basic machinist tools

  • Proven ability to interpret blueprints
  • Intellectually curious, passionate about learning and being the best
  • Sense of urgency, highly responsive and oriented towards action
  • Can-do attitude, and respond in all situations with a positive and energized attitude
  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts and overtime

Wage Details

$41.59 - $41.79 per hour
