Job Description

Administrative Assistant - Finance (1 Year Contract)

  • START DATE: September 2026
  • LOCATION: 1-871 Dundas St., Woodstock, ON
  • HOURS: 35 hours per week
  • WAGE: $23.40 per hour to start, increase after successful probationary period.

POSITION SUMMARY: Good Beginnings is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable individual to join our team for a 1 year term. Reporting to the Finance Supervisor, this position is responsible for a variety of accounts payable duties, document scanning, and administrative support functions that support the efficient operation of our organization.


The ideal candidate is professional, organized, approachable, and proactive, with a strong commitment to accuracy,
confidentiality, and exceptional customer service. They are able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining
attention to detail. This is a fully in-office position; remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS

  • Learn and utilize internal software systems
  • Receive and code expense invoices to applicable GL accounts
  • Accounts payable entries
  • Scanning and electronic filing of documents
  • Supply ordering, tracking, and cost comparisons
  • Inventory of materials, appliances, and technology
  • Technology updates and support
  • Additional duties as required to support the organization as a whole

Education

Post Secondary Degree

Experience Required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a combination of relevant education and experience 
  • Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience in an administrative or accounting role, with exposure to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and/or financial reporting
  • Experience in a non-profit child care setting is an asset

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Intermediate Excel skills are required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effective time management skills

Compensation and Benefits

$23.40 per hour to start, increase after successful probationary period.
