Job Description

South Gate Centre is a vibrant, busy not-for-profit organization with a fantastic community-driven atmosphere. Thanks to our brand-new building addition, our rentals and catering events have grown exponentially! We are a moving, grooving, fast-paced place, and our team is growing. About the Role:
Working alongside our Facility Manager, this role ensures our new building expansion remains clean, safe, and welcoming during active programming hours and private rentals. This position focuses directly on safety monitoring, off-hour cleanups, and setup modifications for venue bookings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform custodial duties including floor maintenance, vacuuming, garbage removal, and washroom sanitization.
  • Execute room configurations by physically moving and setting up tables, chairs, and layouts for rental functions.
  • Conduct routine facility safety walks and handle full lockup procedures at the close of evening shifts.
  • Act as the primary on-site operational point of contact for weekend renters and user groups

What We're Looking For

  • Reliable and dependable.
  • Able to lift and move tables, chairs, and equipment safely.
  • Physically capable of cleaning, setup, teardown, and light maintenance work.
  • Takes pride in keeping a facility clean and presentable.
  • Friendly and comfortable working around members, renters, caterers, and guests.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in commercial cleaning, building custodial operations, or light facility maintenance.
  • Reliable, independent worker with strong problem-solving skills during off-hours.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation: $18.50 – $20.00 / hour
