Job Description

VDK Commercial Glazing is currently seeking a Commercial Installer to join our Commercial team. This opportunity involves assembling and installing commercial and industrial glazing applications for high-end homes, mid-rise condominiums, and other commercial and institutional projects.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communicate with lead-hand, co-workers, and supervisors
  • Keep construction site and shop tidy
  • Assist with inventory of supplies and materials
  • Uncrate and assemble products from shipping and receiving
  • Install glazing systems, curtain wall, storefront, and doors as per drawings and instruction from head office
  • Install showers, glass railings, protective shields, mirrors, and custom orders from customers as instructed by head office
  • Fabricate, measure, and assemble aluminum frames, curtain wall and storefront products
  • Other related duties as assigned
  • Must be able to lift heavy windows/doors.

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

  • Aptitude for math, measuring and the use of power/hand tools
  • Experience workings in a construction environment an asset
  • Ability to read construction drawings an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Comfortable working safely at heights
  • Ability to analyze information and troubleshoot problems
  • First aid, lift ticket or fall arrest training considered an asset
  • Punctual and strong work ethic are a must
