Today’s Family is looking for caring home child care providers in the Oxford region, to support families looking for quality home child care programs.

Licensed home child care is a small group setting of up to six children in a home child care provider’s home.

It is a flexible and personal option for licensed child care that includes full-time, part-time, weekend care, shift care and emergency child care options to meet your flexible child care needs.

As part of licensed child care, the homes are visited regularly by our team of Home Visitors to support home child care providers with health and safety, nutrition, resources and supporting quality programs and experiences for your child.


We are here to support you and your home child care business with:

  • Support from a home visitor
  • Access to professional learning and resources
  • Business supports (administration, billing, marketing, enrolment)
  • Access to government grants
  • Support of an Agency team to find children for your home, collect parent fees, train and support you

As a Contracted Licenced Home Child Care Provider,

  • You will be a self-employed small business operator
  • Your premise will be licensed to operate child care; making you an independent contractor with Today’s Family. 
  • With the assistance of the Home Visitor, able to plan, organize and deliver fun daily educational and recreational activities following the Today’s Family child care program policies and procedures.
  • Provide lunch and snacks
  • Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner (e.g. incident/accident reports, Daily Written Record and Daily attendance)
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic and tidy program space according to Today’s Family standards. 
  • Respond to an accident or emergency situation following Today’s Family procedures, while maintaining calm and control with the other children in care
  • Adhere to, and follow Today’s Family, services, Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, and Health and Safety Standards 

 

 

Requirements: 

  • Comply with the policies and procedures of our agency in accordance with the regulations of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the emergent curriculum approach
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check including Vulnerable Screening
  • Standard First Aid Certification (WSIB Approved) within past three years
  • CPR/AED Level C Certification (WSIB Approved) within the past year
  • Must be COVID-19 Vaccinated and provide Proof of Vaccination

 

Skills & Abilities Today’s Family Looks For:

  • Knowledge and understanding of compliance regulations and appropriate legislation 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of caring, collaboration, accountability, and innovation. 
  • Willing to participate in ongoing learning.
  • Experience working with infants and children, or having your own children is preferred but is not a requirement.
  • Loves to work with children and understands that child care is more than just babysitting
  • Enjoys being able to stay at home and be self-employed
  • Presents themselves in a professional and courteous manner to parents and children
  • Able to communicate with parents and agency staff confidently
  • Can multitask but also focus their attention to the needs and wellbeing of children in care

Salary: $500 - $1500 per week
