Job Description

TDMH is proud to offer a large variety of services and care for our patients. We operate 30 acute medical-surgical beds, 10 Complex Continuing Care beds, 5 Intensive Coronary Care Unit beds and a dialysis unit, currently serving over 30 patients several times a week. Our Emergency Department offers 24 hour care / 7 days per week. TDMH’s surgical program encompasses a number of services. These include the Operating Rooms, the Post-Anesthetic Care Unit, Day Surgery, Minor Surgical Clinic, Pre-admission Clinic and the Endoscopy Unit. General Surgery, Dental Surgery and Endoscopy services are provided by a team of nurses, surgeons and anesthetists. Our team is made up of experienced physicians, nurses and clerical staff who are there to support our patients and their families. Qualifications Required

  • Registered Nurse with a current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

  • Recent experience is required.

  • Must possess current Basic Life Support (BLS).

  • Well-developed patient assessment, intervention and evaluation skills.

  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize patient care needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to function productively in a very demanding environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform duties independently.

  • Demonstrated ability to function productively as a team member in an interdisciplinary setting.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in the usage of various programs such as Cerner, Powerchart and Microsoft Office.

  • Skilled with the interaction of patients and families to provide patient focused, goal oriented care.

  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to Privacy and Confidentiality.

  • Excellent attendance record and work ethics in previous positions.

  • Proven experience working in a fast paced environment.

  • Able to manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Strong communication skills with a patient centred focus.

 Other pertinent conditions:

Must be available to work all shifts as required, which may include; weekends, statutory holidays, days, evenings and night shifts. Hours are subject to change based on operation needs of the hospital.
