Job Description
Velkow Lift Inc. is Southwestern Ontario's resource for service, rentals, parts & sales for ALL Makes and Models of forklifts. We are looking for an Experienced Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience repairing and servicing forklifts/heavy equipment and working in a shop environment.
Job Requirements:
- Perform repairs and service on various types of material handling equipment, including propane and electric forklifts, skyjacks, pallet jacks.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine powered forklifts.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and provide repair/service solutions.
- Experience in the use of grinders, drill press, air compressor and common hand and power tools.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
- Must bring own hand tools and tool box to shop.
- Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to take direction and work independently as required.
- Strong ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast paced and changing environment.
