Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Support the stable operation and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. Participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. 
  • Proven knowledge with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
  • Additional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional (CCNA/P) are considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to demonstrate the required competencies for this position in alignment with Oxford County’s competency framework.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and hands on experience of network and PC operating systems, VoIP telephony systems, and troubleshooting/research issues.
  • Knowledge of relevant trends, legislation and regulations including current protocols, Internet standards, and data privacy practices and laws.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, interpersonal and customer service skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure situation
