Job Description
Tourism Oxford is filling one of its two Tourism Officer positions. The Officer we are hiring for will be responsible for
customer service for visitors and tourism businesses. This role will focus on communication, training research, analysis,
and product development with the tourism industry. In addition, the Officer will manage visitor services including
responding to emails, phone calls, travel and trade and participate at tradeshows. The successful candidate will also be
required to fill in and focus on creative content development when needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to and working with the Tourism Specialist, the Tourism Officer will coordinate various initiatives including:
engaging industry-related stakeholders, promotional events, learning opportunities, marketing and partnerships. The
Tourism Officer will also create and maintain content for print and online resources.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS:
• Post-secondary education in Tourism, Business, or a related field.
• At least 2 years’ experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and manage an individual work plan.
• Experience creating engaging journalism, press releases, story writing, website, social media and other content.
• Knowledge of website content and layout best practices relevant to the Tourism industry.
• Ability to learn, adapt and utilize office software, databases, online and social media tools.
• Demonstrated ability to research, analyze and recommend changes in response to findings.
• Requires strong communication skills, teamwork and the ability to engage community partners.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and the occasional overnight trip.
• Ability to lift and handle various items including boxes of promotional and event materials.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license.
LOCATION: CAO/Clerk’s Officer – Tourism, Oxford County Administration Building
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Permanent Full-Time
REPORTING TO: Tourism Specialist
UNION AFFILIATION: Non-Union
WAGE RATE: $31.32/hr - $39.15/hr ($57,002.00 - $71,253.00 annually)
