POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for operating various machinery including forklift, front end loader, lawn tractor, and telehandler. Responsible for safely driving various vehicles owned by department, such as, tandem dump truck, vacuum truck, and sewer flushing hydrovac truck. Overtime is occasionally required on weekends or as an extension of the regular workday.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent experience. 

Valid Class "D" driver’s license with “Z” endorsement required with an acceptable driving record. Class “A” with “Z” endorsement is an asset. Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.

Required to perform physical work such as lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying various materials, as well as extended periods of sitting while driving. Able to work in confined spaces.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, show initiative, and work collaboratively as a team. 

First aid training is an asset. 

Requires working knowledge of equipment safety practices and required to be a competent worker as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Previous experience operating the abovementioned equipment is preferred..
