Job Description
The Quality Inspector's primary responsibility is to perform hourly in-process inspection checks on plastic injection moulded parts and assemblies during their respective shifts. In-process inspections are done in accordance to our hourly In-process inspection sheets and consist of using various measurement tools such as: Digital Verniers, Depth Gauges, Pin Gauges, Height Gauges and Checking Fixtures, etc. A visual inspection of our moulded parts/assemblies is also completed during each hourly in-process check using our Work Guidance Sheet and accept/reject samples as aids for determining a parts acceptance. This Quality Inspector Position will be a rotation of shifts between Midnights, Afternoons and Day shifts. The Quality Inspector also supports other quality related tasks as requested by the Quality Manager. The Quality Inspector rotation schedule is posted many months in advance to help assist personal planning. This Quality Inspector Position is a maternity leave opening with potential to become a full time Quality Inspector Position.
Education
Experience Required
Previous experience as a Quality Inspector or a Production Worker within a manufacturing company that produces automotive or other technical parts would be desirable. Although this experience is preferrable, we would also be willing to provide training to someone who has exceptional skills and a desire to perform in this role.
Note: Scott-Douglas Plastics Ltd., is a plastic injection moulding company located in Ingersoll, Ontario. We have been manufacturing plastic injection moulded parts and assemblies to the automotive, telecommunications, pharmaceutical and custom markets on a 3 shifts a day, 5 day a week schedule over the past 50 years of business. Scott-Douglas Plastics office, manufacturing floor and warehouse is fully air conditioned. We also offer an employee shared benefit program.
