Job Description

As a PSW/DSW at the MSC you will be responsible for:

· The provision of a variety of direct support care services to individuals in the community

· Performing Personal Care Tasks (including assistance with bathing, hygiene, grooming, dressing, foot care, transfers & mobility)

· Performing Household Management Tasks (e.g. light housekeeping, laundry, meal planning & preparation, errands)

· Providing socialization visits and care giver relief

· Promoting Wellness (e.g. encourage client independence and involvement in the care plan)

· Respecting and protecting the rights of clients, including but not limited to their right to independence, autonomy, and self-determination; their right to choose and practice individual values, beliefs, religion, and culture; their right to privacy and dignity; and their right to live free from retaliation, discrimination and abuse.

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

What you bring:

· A certificate from an approved Personal Support Worker or Developmental Services Worker program from a school registered with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities

· A valid Ontario Drivers License and reliable transportation required

· Experience as a PSW or DSW

· Previous experience working in a home care setting would be an asset

· A valid First Aid/CPR training certification

· A strong work ethic with a focus on client confidentiality and exceptional care
