Overview of the Role
You'll discover a stimulating atmosphere that fosters your professional growth in a clean and safe environment. Reporting to the Supervisor, Packaging, the Operator, Sanitation role will be responsible for the essential functions of the position, which include, but are not limited to the following:
Schedule: Monday - Tuesday 6:00am - 6:00pm & Saturday 6:00pm - 6:00am
Salary: $25.90/h
There are 2 salary increases in the first year of employment, with a target rate of $28.80/hour.

How you will make contributions that matter:
- Responsible for the tear down of equipment for cleaning
- Ensures the efficient and effective use of equipment and material resources, communicating with the Packaging Supervisor to monitor and maximize operational efficiencies
- Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
- Use specified amounts of chemicals to clean packaging equipment and work areas at required times
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP Requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures
- May move heavy equipment and supplies as required
- Ensures that safe conditions exist at all times within the work environment and will take appropriate action to protect the health and safety of all employees
- Responsible for communication between shifts with previous/oncoming shift Leadhands as well as Packaging, Technicians and Supervisors of key issues or potential issues
- Maintains effective internal and external working relationships
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Packaging or designate
- Flexibility to work shifts outside the normal shift when required
- Supports and maintains Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.’s quality standards;
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
- Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Experience in food manufacturing or packaging, preferably dairy manufacturing
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment quickly and easily
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team
