Job Description

VDK Commercial Glazing is a manufacturer of aluminum windows, storefronts, curtain walls and doors and is located in Norwich, Ontario. We currently have a full-time drafting position for shop drawings with final review by engineer. Must have a strong understanding of building construction & building envelope and knowledge of aluminum frames and doors.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Review LOIs, quotes and specifications prior to starting shop drawings and raise any discrepancies with estimating department
Prepare shop drawings complete with description of products being used, elevations, details, anchoring and send for review to engineer
As required, prepare aluminum door hardware schedules, paint & glass samples to be sent for review by consultant
On approval of aluminum shop drawings send LOIs to suppliers and order materials required for project

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

Qualification and Skills:
Strong understanding of building design and construction
Proficient in AutoCAD LT
Self-motivated, problem solver and team player
