Overview of the Role
You'll discover a stimulating atmosphere that fosters your professional growth in a clean and safe environment. Reporting to the Supervisor, Production (Whey) the Operator, Production (Whey) is responsible for assisting in the manufacturing and bulk format finishing/packaging of whey powder in accordance with the standards and safety objectives established by Senior Management of the company.
Schedule: 12hr rotating shifts
Salary: 25.90$/h
There are 2 salary increases in the first year of employment, with a target rate of $28.80/hour.

How you will make contributions that matter:
- Operate all packaging and production equipment as assigned by the Whey Plant Supervisor, Operator or Lead Hand.
- Responsible for packaging of whey powder and dairy blend powders.
- Receive raw materials such as whey or permeate.
- Assist in shipping of blended dairy products.
- Prepare for shipping of finished goods, including loading trailers, complete required forms
- Adhere to Best Operating Procedures to ensure the highest quality product possible.
- Accurate recording of all data and inventory entries into AS400.
- Must demonstrate teamwork, co-operation, responsibility, initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Disassembly & assembly of whey packaging equipment for routine maintenance and regular cleaning
- Ensures that safe conditions exist at all times within the work environment; will take appropriate action to protect the health and safety of employees and comply with all requirements as stated in the Health and Safety policy.
- Full participation in the HACCP program and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Ensures the efficient and effective use of equipment and material resource.
- Maintains effective internal working relationships.
- Supports and maintains Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.’s quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned by the Whey Plant Supervisor, Operator or Lead Hand.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
- Experience within a dairy or food manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Forklift license
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
- Proven leadership and strong team orientation.
- Self-motivated, results oriented and possess high degree of initiative, and work well with minimal supervision.
- Must be available to work various shifts, weekends and performs overtime as required
- Working knowledge of computers, including software programs such as Microsoft Office. SAP an asset
