Job Description
Central Ontario FS, a division of GROWMARK, Inc., is a growing and progressive, multi-service agricultural business, operating18 locations that specialize in agronomy, energy products and grain marketing throughout southwestern and central Ontario. We’re currently looking for professional, courteous, knowledgeable and self-motivated individuals to join our team.
In this role you will:
- Unload grain trucks and wagons into the elevator during harvest time
- Load grain trucks outbound for end user destinations
- Operate a computer to identify load numbers, scale weights, grades and other paperwork
- Scale trucks in and out using a computer system
- Drive and operate straightforward plant equipment and machinery, such as bobcats, forklifts, and/or trucks
- Transfer and organize goods
- Maintain and adjust straightforward equipment and/or machinery
- Perform general machine/ motor/ auger maintenance and repairs
- Maintain grain elevator, grounds, warehouse and premises, including yard work
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment
- Receive grain and grade accordingly by sampling, testing, and weighing
- Operate automated system grain dryers
- Climb ladders and work at heights
- Complete monthly inventory checks of grain silos and record results
- Participate in silo cleanouts to sweep, shovel, grain vacuum the silo empty
- Provide excellent customer service to the customers year round
- Creates staff schedules
- Trains operational employees
- May have direct reports
Education
Experience Required
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Comfortable with computer/digital technology
- An understanding of electrical panels
- Physically fit to climb heights
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- A general knowledge and skills required to safely operate straightforward plant equipment, and/or machinery
- Full G driver's license
- Conversational English skills, with the ability to follow posted safety rules and safe operating procedures; write and make accurate reporting entries, comprehend simple instructions
