Job Description
Kouwenberg Dairy of Salford, ON, is seeking a full time Assistant Herdsperson to join our team in April or May 2025. We milk 150 purebred Holsteins in three Lely A5 robots at Site 1, and milk 50 purebred Holsteins in one Lely A5 plus have a contract hog barn at Site 2. Most of your time will be at Site 1 and you will provide days off coverage at nearby Site 2 plus occasional other assistance at Site 2 on busy days.
This is a full time position of 40 hours per week, Mon to Fri and every other weekend.
Education
Experience Required
Minimum 2 years experience working on a dairy farm
Calm and patient while handling cattle
A valid driver’s licence
Can operate a skid steer
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Punctuality, open to learning new skills and working well with others will make you a good fit for our team
