At Oxford Milkway Transport Co-Op, we’ve proudly grown over 60 years from a small group of innovative producers into a cornerstone of Southwestern Ontario’s dairy industry. As a member of the Ontario Milk Transport Association, we specialize in delivering top-quality milk with state-of-the-art equipment and dedicated trailers. With a fleet of 60 trucks and nearly 100 employees, we serve local producers daily, building strong partnerships with our community and the Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO). Our head office and main yard is in Woodstock, with additional depots in Mitchell, Millbank and the Kitchener area.
As a Fleet Mechanic, you’ll play a key role, working out of either our Woodstock or Mitchell shop, maintaining our fleet and depot equipment to ensure safe, cost-effective, and compliant operations. This hands-on position focuses on repairs, preventative maintenance, and collaborating with our operations team to keep our equipment running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on trucks, specifically highway tractors and trailers, and milk pumps.
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations.
- Follow safety policies, shop procedures, and company guidelines, including participating in a rotating weekend on-call schedule and provide after hours service, as needed.
Education
Experience Required
Qualifications:
- Certified Truck & Coach Technician (310T).
- AZ Driver’s License preferred, but not required.
- Experience with milk pumps, stainless tanks, and trailers an asset, but not necessary.
- Proficiency in computer systems for work order management.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Personal tools in good condition (annual tool allowance provided).
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, suspension, and air brakes.
- A safety-first mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to physically handle working on the floor under trucks and trailers.
