Overview of the Role
Reporting to the Supervisor, Packaging, the Operator Skilled, Production (Packaging) is responsible for providing direct support to the Leadhand, Packaging. As Back-up Lead Hand, this position will act as Leadhand as required.
How you will make contributions that matter:
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the highest quality product possible
- Ensures the efficient and effective use of equipment and material resources, communicating with the Packaging Supervisor to monitor and maximize operational efficiencies
- Respond to urgent equipment problems in a timely manner including minor repairs, running adjustments, preventative maintenance and trouble shooting
- Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment
- Responsible for communication between shifts with previous/oncoming shift Back up Lead hand as well as Packaging Technicians and Supervisors of key issues or potential issues
- Validate that implementation of solution is correct and equipment is operating and working properly
- Meet packaging schedules and quotas
- Ensures quality and sanitation standards are met adhering to GMP’s and HACCP
- Ensures safe conditions and work procedures exist at all times within the work environment
- Supports and maintains Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.’s quality standards.
Education
Experience Required
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
Flexibility to work shifts outside the normal shift when required
Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting and record keeping with the ability to adapt to changing environments quickly and easily
Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and the ability to function independently and as part of a team
Proficient and dependable in current position.
