Job Description
The Township of Norwich is currently seeking employment for a seasonal (May-August) Community Services Parks Labourer. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all parks, outdoor spaces, cemeteries, and associated facilities for the Township. This position will report to the Properties & Facilities Manager. The rate of pay is $18.40 per hour, with the option to join the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS). A criminal background check will be required at the time of hire.
The ideal candidate will:
- Must possess and maintain for a minimum of six (6) months a valid class “G2” Ontario Driver’s Licence
- Certification in First Aid/CPR with AED considered an asset
- Ability to safely operate various pieces of equipment, including but not limited to Zero Turn, Tractors, grass cutting equipment, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Ability to work flexible schedules including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
