Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Landscape Labourer to join our Tillsonburg team. As a Landscape Labourer, you will assist in various landscaping tasks such as planting, maintaining gardens, and operating power tools. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and has a passion for maintaining and creating beautiful landscapes.
Duties:
- Daily grounds and landscape maintenance of residential, commercial and industrial properties.
- Assist in landscape maintenance tasks such routine garden maintenance, weeding, mulching, edging, etc.
- Assist in the construction of pathways, walkways, retaining walls, rock work, grading, etc.
- Assists in spring and fall cleanups.
- Weed, rake, and collect refuse, remove litter and garbage.
- Cart and spread topsoil, mulch, gravel and other materials.
- Lay sod or seed.
- Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees.
- Edge garden beds.
- Load and unload all required tools and equipment from trucks and trailers.
- Maintain clean and organized job sites, trucks, equipment, and shop/office area.
- Perform basic daily maintenance of power equipment (grease, sharpen, clean, etc).
- Perform general landscape duties (manually transport product, prep, install, plant).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Assist with general landscaping duties as assigned.
Education
Experience Required
Skills:
- Proficient in operating power tools and equipment commonly used in landscaping.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Ability to follow landscape plans and instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise maintenance techniques.
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with hand tools used in landscaping.
- Class G license (preferred)
