Job Description

Ensure the physical environment is of high quality to ensure that all children are involved in learning in a safe & stimulating environment
‒    Interact with children and families, reflecting the Agency Vision
‒    Form positive relationships with the children, appreciating the differences and special needs of each child
‒    Prepare weekly plans for each days’ activities which are inclusive of all children’s needs
‒    Follow procedures, practices and schedules of the program as outlined in Policy Manual for the Centre

‒    Work as a team with other staff, volunteers and students
‒    Facilitate the placement of students and volunteers within the classroom
‒    Attend staff meetings, participate in on-going supervision and attend training events as required
‒    Other duties as assigned

Experience Required

Qualifications Include:
• Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education (registered) and a member in good standing with the College of ECE’s is preferred, or

• Working knowledge of inclusive childcare environments
• Working knowledge of the Ontario Early Learning Framework (OELF)
• Understanding of the Child Care and Early Years Act
• Ability to work as a team player and independently
• Excellent communication skills; written, oral, listening and non-verbal
• Strong organizational skills
• Current First Aid & C.P.R.
