Job Description
Beachville District Museum is hiring a Program Coordinator to support summer programs and events. We are looking for candidates that are enthusiastic about community outreach, local history and children's education. The Coordinator develops educational tools, organizes camp activities and provides guided tours of exhibits. Ideal candidates have strong organizational skills, customer service experience and familiarity with the museum sector.
Start date: May 26, 2025
End date: August 29, 2025
Duties
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of program activities to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Coordinate with other program coordinators to develop summer camp activities.
- Monitor program registrations on the museum website.
- Engage community partners to support program offerings.
- Lead recruitment efforts for program participants and volunteers, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Help facilitate the museum's hands-on heritage experiences (baseball-making, butter-churn picnics and quilting).
- Market programs through various channels (social media, community calendars, etc.) to increase awareness and participation.
- Other duties as assigned by the museum manager.
Qualifications
- A degree in children's education, business, arts administration, history or other related field.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on team building.
- Capabilities working with online scheduling or payment-processing software.
- Experience with social-media promotion.
- Must have a reliable method of transportation to the workplace.
- First-aid and CPR certifications considered an asset.

Beachville is situated in the Thames River Valley between Ingersoll and Woodstock, just thirty (30) minutes east of London. The village originally developed around the limestone industry and the railroad, and became a central hub of Oxford County. Beachville District Museum is supported through a joint funding agreement between Zorra Township, South-West Oxford Township and the Beachville District Historical Society.
