Job Description

Calling All Seasoned Helpers!
Join Our Kitchen Crew at The Colombo Club of Oxford

Are you retired or semi-retired and looking for a fun, social way to stay active? Love good food, great company, and being part of a supportive community? We’d love to have you join our kitchen team!

We’re on the lookout for a Kitchen Helper to assist during our weekend events and famous Spaghetti Nights. No formal experience needed—just a good attitude, a willingness to pitch in, and maybe a love for pasta!

Your Role (a.k.a. What You’ll Be Up To):

  • Helping with food prep (chop a little, stir a little, taste a little—okay, maybe not that last part)
  • Keeping things tidy and organized in the kitchen (because we all work better when we can find the ladle!)
  • Washing dishes and assisting with basic tasks behind the scenes
  • Supporting our cooks and team during busy events (think weddings, banquets, and our always-popular pasta nights)

When We’ll Need You:

  • Mostly Fridays and Saturdays, a few times a month for special events
  • Also helping out during our bi-weekly Friday Spaghetti Nights
  • Some shifts can be up to 12 hours, but we promise the time flies when you’re having fun (and we feed you well!)

You’ll Fit Right In If You:

  • Enjoy working with others and being part of a community
  • Want to stay active and involved without the pressure of full-time work
  • Bring a sense of humour and a good work ethic to the table (pun intended!)
