Bakery Assistant

Tasks

• Package and label baked goods
• Portion and bake mixed dough and batters
• Decorate cookies and other baked goods
• Prepare recipes, refill ingredient containers with some heavy lifting (50 lb)
• Dishwashing, cleaning and sanitizing 
• Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards
• Operate baking equipment
• Organize and prepare customer orders
• Errands and deliveries with paid mileage
• Extra days may be required at busier times of the year and holidays
• Maintain a gluten-free baking environment
• This is a physically demanding position with standing required most of the day and repetitive tasks.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a bakery or food service environment preferred.
• Strong work ethic and a willingness to take on various tasks as needed.
• Excellent attention to detail and cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Good communication and ability to follow directions.
• Food handler's certificate preferred.
• Knowledge of gluten-free foods and allergies an asset.
