Job Description
Courtland is looking for a Mechanic Assistant to join our Team in Tillsonburg, Ontario. The Mechanic Assistant is required to perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of vehicles and also equipment such as mowing tractors, loaders, snow removal equipment, salt spreaders, etc. The candidate must be able to analyze, troubleshoot, dismantle, align, assemble and adjust mechanical equipment and machinery to maintain it in efficient operating condition. Work assignments will be received in the form of oral or written work orders, but the employee is expected to determine the nature and extent of needed repairs. This position is permanent full-time with some on/call duties during the winter season.
Education
Experience Required
Requirements:
- Possess a valid drivers license
- Proven mechanical abilities in gas and diesel automotive repairs
- Knowledge and experience in electrical diagnostic and repair
- Hydraulic knowledge and experience
- Welding is an asset
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment
- Experience with routine maintenance operations
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Completion of college/vocational or technical training is an asset
- Class A Mechanic’s License is an asset
