Job Description
Canada Stampings specializes in producing high-quality, built-to-print steel components for tier-1 automotive suppliers across North America. We specialize in complex assemblies, including high-precision stamping, deep draw stamping, robotic assembly, welding, and tooling services. With press lines up to 600 tonnes, a fully equipped tool room, and a state-of-the-art quality lab, were dedicated to delivering reliable and innovative solutions that meet the highest safety standards.
We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our Quality Assurance team.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Purchase all manufacturing materials per MRP system requirements
- Procure all purchased items and MRO items for plant (production, quality and tool room)
- Review Open Purchase Orders and contact suppliers accordingly to ensure all orders on schedule
- Manage the Approved Supplier List to ensure quality, cost effective supply partners
- Look for new quality competitive suppliers to add to supplier base, based on price, quality and delivery
- Manage purchase item pricing to cost structures and obtain Managers approval on overruns
- Expedite orders when required
- Purchase and co-ordinate all sub-contracted processes for the production department
- Supply pricing information for accurate effective sales quotations
- Complete corrective actions on Hold Tags for suppliers when required
- Manage the Supplier Correction Actions system
- Manage outside processors and assist in effective ERP inventory management
- ERP management for effective use in purchasing function
- Implement & maintain Kan-Ban system for consumable materials such as weld gas and wire
- Manage and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Any other duties as assigned
Education
Experience Required
Initial Qualifications for Hire:
- Computer literate
- Minimum grade 12 education
- Previous exposure to manufacturing environment
- Ability to communicate well both written and verbal
- 5 years experience in purchasing field
- 5 years experience in metals manufacturing, fabricating and or stampings industries
