Job Description
W-S Feed & Supplies Ltd. is an independently owned and operated company. As an industry leading manufacturer of livestock feed, the company is strongly committed to its values of quality and service. We offer our customers a wide variety of feeds in the Dairy, Beef, Swine and Poultry species. Manufacturing divisions with the company include Mount Forst and the head office located in Tavistock. We are currently hiring for a dispatcher and a truck driver at our Tavistock location
The Dispatcher’s role is to route and schedule drivers to deliver feed to customers and pick up commodities from suppliers in an efficient and timely manner.
Responsibility:
• Schedule and plan deliveries for load maximization.
• Review and sign off on driver transportation forms.
• Monitor fleet movement and operations through the day.
• Assist and support compliance of Incident Investigations.
• Monitor drivers’ hours of service to ensure compliance with MTO regulations.
• Organize and supervise the truck drivers work to ensure that all assigned work activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.
• Understand and follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Conduct regular truck inspections and maintain accurate documentation.
• Schedule all truck maintenance and repairs.
• Understand and follow all HACCP requirements and all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
• Dispatch experience would be an asset but not required.
• Exceptional customer service and written/verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of GMP and HACCP.
• Problem identification and solving capabilities with the ability to work under pressure in a fast- paced environment.
• Ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
• Good computer skills.
• Familiar of Southwestern Ontario region.
• General working knowledge of agricultural trucking processes considered an asset.
