Job Description

Job Title: Paint Blaster II 

Job Summary 

The Painter Blaster II role is responsible for painting parts for the painting of various parts for agricultural machinery.  

Responsibility 

  • Ability to blast and paint all Salford frames and products evenly as per Salford’s quality standards.  
  • Ability to train other/new employees on proper painting/blasting procedures, including equipment.  
  • Ensure quality standards are met with all products leaving the paint line.  
  • Ability to load and unload frames.  
  • Maintain detailed records pertaining to projects including; mil readings, paint consumption, and ambient environment readings.  
  • Follow all health and safety procedures as outlined in the hourly employee handbook and departmental safety procedures.  
  • Clean and maintain painting, ventilation, blast equipment and personal protective equipment.  
  • Effective Identification and troubleshooting of minor paint and blast issues, including equipment (I.e. pumps).  
  • Take direction from the assembly & paint supervisor as needed for specific products or projects.  
  • Assist with the powder coat line when required.  

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

Academic/Educational Requirements 

  • A secondary or post-secondary education diploma or equivalent  

Required Skills/Experience 

  • A minimum of one to two years of industrial painting in a manufacturing setting is required  

  • Knowledge on wet paint techniques and a good understanding of paint equipment is considered an asset  

  • Work as a member of a team in a production line and collaborate with one another to resolve quality problems as needed.   

  • Take safety courses, such as training in the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and in proper use of respirators and other safety equipment as needed.  

  • Ability to operate overhead crane/forklift and move large parts on monorail independently  

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs with the assistance of a lifting device  

  • Highly organized, proactive, can work independently without supervision   

  • Excellent time management skills   

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both written and verbal   

  • Positive attitude that will be a good cultural fit is required   

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, attention to detail   

  • Maintain clean work areas and equipment
