The NDT Technician – Level 2 is responsible for conducting non-destructive testing using Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) methods in accordance with CGSB/ISO or NAS410 standards. This role involves equipment setup, part evaluation, interpretation of results, and documentation to ensure product quality and safety. The technician must be proficient in NDT techniques, capable of guiding trainees, and committed to maintaining high inspection standards in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

About You

At our company, we are looking for exceptional individuals who can meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain focus during long inspection periods

  • Ability to work rotating shifts and stand for extended periods

  • Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Guide and mentor trainees and Level 1 technicians

  • Interpret technical information and apply problem solving skills

  • Safely work in environments with exposure to chemicals, noise, and heavy equipment

Education & Experience:

  • Graduate of a 2-year Engineering Technology program, or

  • Valid CGSB/ISO Level MT2 & UT1 certification (or MT2 & UT2 under NAS410)

  • Documented experience performing NDT in accordance with certification requirements

  • Must meet trainee and certification path requirements per Written Practice

In-depth understanding of:

  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) techniques

  • System performance check requirements

  • Relevant codes, standards, and manufacturing processes

Familiarity with:

  • NDT documentation, inspection reporting, and internal process standards

  • Safety practices and physical risks within a manufacturing setting

Skills

  • Technical proficiency in operating NDT equipment and interpreting data

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy

  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and standards

  • Clear communication skills for providing guidance and documenting findings

  • Organizational skills for managing multiple inspections and maintaining traceability
