Position Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations to ensure company goals and objectives are achieved in the areas of cost, productivity, quality, safety, quantity, and delivery. This role provides leadership and direction to Supervisors and oversees maintenance functions, including preventive maintenance programs.

The Production Manager ensures operational performance aligns with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and collective agreement obligations while driving continuous improvement across production and maintenance functions.

 About You

  • Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and safety

Education

Post Secondary Degree

Experience Required

Education & Experience

  • Education: Post-secondary education, supervisory training, or equivalent experience in manufacturing or operations management

    Experience: 

  • 7-10 years of related manufacturing experience 
  • Progressive leadership experience within a production environment
  • Experience managing multi-shift operations
  • Experience working within a unionized environment considered an asset

    Technical Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing machinery and production processes
  • Knowledge of preventative and corrective maintenance programs
  • Understanding of production planning and manpower forecasting
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and cost control
  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS
  • Knowledge of the Labour Relations Act and Collective Agreement administration

Knowledge

  • Manufacturing operations and production management
  • Health and safety legislation and regulatory compliance
  • Labour relations and collective agreement administration
  • Budgeting and cost control principles
  • Quality management and on-time delivery performance
  • Preventive maintenance systems
  • Project management methodologies and lifecycle practices (PMBOK or equivalent)

  • Defence contracting processes and compliance frameworks

  • Manufacturing processes, engineering workflows, and quality systems (ISO, AS9100)

  • Cost control, budgeting, and Earned Value Management (EVMS)

  • Industrial security and export compliance (CGP, ITAR, EAR)

  • Construction and CAPEX project principles within manufacturing settings

  • ERP/MRP systems and project scheduling software (e.g. MS Project)

Working Conditions

  • Regular exposure to dirt and noise in a manufacturing environment.
  • Multi-shift operational oversight responsibilities.
  • Occasional extended hours may be required based on operational demands.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range:$88,200.00 To $109,300.00 Annually
