Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager oversees all financial operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timely reporting. This role leads financial statement preparation, internal controls, and period-end closings, while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis. A key driver of continuous improvement, the Accounting Manager will help build a unified reporting structure for IMT Precision, collaborate with corporate and divisional partners, and promote financial best practices. This role is ideal for a self-motivated leader with strong initiative, ready to make a strategic and tactical impact in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Education

Post Secondary Degree

Experience Required

About You

Education & Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • CPA or CMA designation preferred

  • 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • Minimum 3 years of plant-level accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Leadership experience, including;

    • Hiring, assessing, and developing employees

    • Managing external audit processes

  • Experience collaborating with operations and cross functional teams

  • Exposure to ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics

  • Experience with cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting

Knowledge

In-depth understanding of:

  • GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

  • Cost Accounting methodologies:

    • Standard costing

    • Activity-based costing

  • Inventory valuation and production cost analysis

Familiarity with:

  • IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)

  • Internal controls and compliance processes

  • ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)

  • Database query/reporting tools (e.g. Atlas)

  • Tax compliance and year-end tax filings

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel

  • Proficiency in ERP systems

  • Budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis

  • Financial analysis and KPI development

Leadership & Communication

  • Written and verbal communication

  • Staff development and team building

  • Cross-functional collaboration (Finance, IT, Operations)

  • Stakeholder management (auditors, plant staff, senior leaders)

Process & Analytical

  • Organizational and time management

  • Process improvement and change implementation

  • Close management (month, quarter, year-end)

  • Strategic financial planning and reporting
