YOUR ROLE IN OUR TEAM

The electrician is responsible for commissioning and supporting a new manufacturing facility in Tillsonburg. This role may focus heavily on PLC systems, automation troubleshooting, and reliability improvement. They work in collaboration with most departments and provide technical support to production while complying with occupational health and safety regulations. 

THE CHALLENGES WE HAVE FOR YOU

  • Acts as an electrical and automation specialist; 
  • Improves the reliability of existing systems; 
  • Performs all required repairs as well as preventive maintenance on all required systems.  
  • Reads and interprets technical drawings and prints; 
  • Carries out necessary repairs and improvements to machinery and systems; 
  • Performs inspections of various equipment (machinery and buildings); 
  • Ensures that electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, thermal, and mechanical equipment is safe at all times; 
  • Participates, in collaboration with their supervisor, in the development and monitoring of the preventive maintenance plan; 
  • Works in collaboration with various trades during major projects or large-scale work; 
  • Participates in planning machine shutdowns with the responsible manager; 
  • Promotes communication among team members and contributes to maintaining and/or improving team spirit; 
  • Ensures work is carried out in compliance with occupational health and safety standards; 

Education

Post Secondary Degree

Experience Required

THE SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Your education : 

  • Completed apprenticeship in Electrical Trade. 

  • Electrician – Industrial (442a) and/or Electrician – Construction and Maintenance (309a) certification required. 

  • 2 to 5 years of experience 

Your knowledge :

  • Strong skills in analyzing, understanding, and interpreting the various systems commonly found in manufacturing plants; 

  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written; 

Your Skills and Attitudes :

  • Strong knowledge of automated industrial machinery and equipment. 

  • Experience in PLC programming. 

  • Siemens TIA portal experience strongly preferred. 

  • Understanding of the CEC (Canadian Electrical Code) and OEC (Ontario Electrical Code) 

  • Strong team spirit and sense of belonging; 

  • Strong analytical skills; 

  • Ability to manage stress and remain calm in high-pressure situations; 

  • Ability to communicate and interact with different personality types. 

Your working conditions : 

  • Works with various trades; 

  • May be required to work outdoors; 

  • Must wear safety glasses and safety boots at all times; 

  • Occasional exposure to solvents, vapours or fumes. 

  • Availability according to schedule to respond to machine service calls; 

The physical requirements :

  • The job requires working on machinery and occasionally at heights; 

  • May be required to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
