Position Summary

The Forge Cleaner is responsible for degreasing and cleaning all areas within the forge department. This role plays a vital part in supporting equipment uptime, workplace safety, and environmental compliance. The Forge Cleaner supports general maintenance efforts and contributes to a clean, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, hands-on, and comfortable working in a dirty, heavy industrial environment.

Experience Required

About You

At our company, we are looking for exceptional individuals who can meet the following criteria:

  • Ability to work in a dirty, hot, noisy industrial environment
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work including standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods
  • ability to work safely around heavy equipment and machinery
  • ability to follow safety rules and work independently or as part of a team
  • ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and safety standards

Education & Experience

  • Education - Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • Experience – None required – full training will be provided

Knowledge

  • Basic industrial cleaning and housekeeping practices
  • Workplace safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing or forge environments
  • Spill containment and environmental compliance principles
  • 5S and workplace organization concepts

Skills

  • Ability to use pressure washers, scrapers, and basic cleaning tools
  • Good attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures
  • Good communications and teamwork skills
  • Ability to recognize and report hazards or abnormal conditions

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to dirt, oil, scale, heat, and elevated noise levels in a forge manufacturing environment
  • Requires use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, protective clothing, hearing protections, etc.)
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
