 Position Summary

The Oiler is responsible for supporting the smooth and safe operation of CNC lathes and other auxiliary equipment through regular lubrication, inspections, and basic maintenance tasks. As an entry-level position in the maintenance team, the Oiler plays a vital role in ensuring equipment uptime, safety, and compliance with environmental and workplace standards. This role supports general maintenance efforts and contributes to a clean, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, hands-on, and eager to learn the mechanical fundamentals of a precision machining facility.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative when routine tasks are completed
  • Perform tasks in confined spaces and around operating machinery
  • Maintain a strong safety mindset under minimal supervision
  • Prioritize duties in a busy environment and adapt to changing priorities

Education & Experience

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience: Entry-level; previous exposure to manufacturing or maintenance is an asset
  • Certifications: Forklift license an asset; WHMIS and SDS familiarity preferred

Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of mechanical lubrication systems
  • Safe handling of oils, greases, and cleaning chemicals
  • Familiarity with CNC machines and their operating environment
  • Awareness of SDS sheets and hazardous material procedures 
  • General knowledge of workplace safety regulations

Skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills and teamwork abilities
  • Perform tasks in confined spaces and around operating machinery
  • Maintain a strong mind set under minimal supervision
  • Prioritize duties in a busy environment and adapt to changing priorities

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: CBA, $25.06
