Position Summary

The Material Handler / Lift Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This includes operating various types of lift trucks to move, load, unload, and stack goods in warehouses, production, and shipping/receiving areas. The role supports inventory control, material tracking, and ensures that production lines are supplied in a timely and accurate manner. A focus on safety, accuracy, and collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to success in this role.

About You

  • Work rotating shifts
  • Ability to lift, bend, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
  • Handle physically demanding tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Follow instructions accurately and maintain focus on safety
  • Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision

Education & Experience

  • Education - Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • Experience – Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Lift truck/forklift experience 

Knowledge

  • Safe material handling procedures and warehouse operations
  • Lift truck operation and routine equipment checks
  • Inventory systems, barcode scanning, and basic documentation practices
  • Workplace safety protocols and PPE requirements

Skills

  • Proficient operation of lift trucks and related equipment
  • Attention to detail in inventory movement and placement
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft programs, scanning tools)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective verbal communication and coordination with teams
