About the Opportunity!

 

This existing vacancy reports to the Machining Manager and performs precise welding by laying out, aligning, and fitting components for saws, jigs, and fixtures to meet close tolerances. Works with the supervisor to troubleshoot and resolve any welding issues to ensure quality and accuracy.

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

 

  • Lays out, positions, aligns and fits together all parts and performs the welding operations for all components
  • Performs welding operations on all saws, jigs and fixtures
  • Confer with supervisor (or designee) to resolve welding problems.
  • Welds to close tolerances

Education

GED

Experience Required

WHAT DO YOU BRING?

· 

  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.  Welding Certification is an asset.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Two years of work experience or related work experience and/or training
  • Adaptable with a willingness to learn, grow and develop
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or within a team setting.
  • Strong tact, influencing, judgment and consultative skills
  • Aptitude for critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making

Compensation and Benefits

The Ontario pay range for this position is $ 21.17/hr + shift differential – tiered wages; bonus after probation plus increase – quarterly COLA increases! This is a position in the bargaining unit.
