Job Description

W-S Feed & Supplies Ltd. is an independently owned and operated company. As an industry leading manufacturer of livestock feed, the company is strongly committed to its values of quality and service. We offer our customers a wide variety of feeds in the Dairy, Beef, Swine and Poultry species. Manufacturing divisions with the company include Mount Forest and the head office located in Tavistock. We are currently hiring for the following positions at our Tavistock location:

This position is responsible to sort, organize and load/unload both incoming and outgoing warehouse products in a safe and efficient manner.

 

Role Responsibilities and Duties

  • Follow standardized policies and procedures.
  • Processing orders/quantities as per order sheet specifications with a high level of accuracy.
  • Handling products with care to avoid damages.
  • Order picking of products and preparing shipments.
  • Packing and wrapping picked items to ensure that they remain safe during delivery.
  • Ensuring the quality of product isn’t compromised when it leaves the warehouse and while it is being transported to place of delivery.
  • Load and unload trucks and other vehicles for transporting products.
  • Be able to lift up to 25 kgs.
  • Receiving shipments regularly checking off items against purchase orders and unpacking pallets.
  • Regularly counting and organizing inventory.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers and suppliers.
  • Moving products back and forth between the mill and the warehouse.
  • Dispose of leftover packing materials such as wooden pallets, and cardboard etc.
  • Learn procedures of other mill areas as needed.

Qualifications/Job Requirements

  • Team player who also works independently.
  • Knowledge of common warehouse procedures.
  • Some experience in a warehouse is an asset (minimum 1-2 years).
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment. Forklift experience considered an asset (willing to train).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person.
  • Positive and friendly attitude, reliable and self-motivated.
  • Ability to read and converse in English.
  • Excellent organization skills and high level of attention to detail.
