This role supports accurate financial reporting while also contributing to budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and strategic financial analysis. The Finance Manager is a key component in strengthening financial discipline, improving portfolio-level visibility into performance and risk, and supporting informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and review of month-end and year-end financial outputs.
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Ensure financial reporting aligns with ASPE and company accounting policies.
  • Support consolidated financial reporting across multiple legal entities.
  • Act as a quality-control and escalation point for complex accounting matters.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process across development projects and operating entities, in collaboration with leadership.
  • Oversee periodic reforecasting and rolling forecasts.
  • Prepare and analyze variance reporting, identifying key drivers, trends, and emerging risks.
  • Develop cash flow forecasts, liquidity analysis, and capital planning models.
  • Support multi-year financial projections and scenario analysis related to development timelines and capital structures.
  • Maintain clear portfolio-level visibility into project funding, cash requirements, and financial risk, and escalate emerging issues to leadership early.
  • Provide financial oversight of land development, construction, and capital projects.
  • Review development budgets, proformas, cost-to-complete analyses, and return metrics.
  • Monitor project financial performance against approved budgets and financing assumptions.
  • Support the financial execution of project financing by preparing lender reporting, tracking loan terms and covenants, and ensuring financing assumptions are accurately reflected in project financials.
  • Partner with development and operations teams to provide financial insight into project decisions and trade-offs
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to ownership, development, and operational leadership.
  • Translate financial results and projections into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Support evaluation of new opportunities, acquisitions, developments, or capital investments.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and operational decisions.
  • Help instill financial discipline, accountability, and cost awareness across the organization.
  • Support year-end audit and review processes in coordination with external accountants.
  • Review audit schedules, working papers, and financial disclosures prepared by the Senior Accountant.
  • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings and compliance support (HST, payroll, WSIB, EHT, etc.).
  • Liaise with external advisors, lenders, and tax professionals as required.
  • Support ownership and enhancement of financial systems, reporting tools, and models.
  • Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, reporting clarity, and process efficiency.
  • Help develop scalable financial processes to support organizational growth.
  • Contribute to documentation of finance policies, planning frameworks, and reporting standards.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned, whether specifically or generally related to the role

Education

Bachelor Degree

Experience Required

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or financial management.
  • Strong understanding of ASPE, multi-entity structures, and full-cycle accounting (review-level).
  • Experience in real estate development, construction, or project-based environments strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated strength in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial models and scenario analysis.
  • Experience working with external auditors, lenders, and advisors.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • High level of judgment, professionalism, and integrity.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year plus benefits.
