Job Description

Human Resources Coordinator – Payroll & Benefits (Contract – 18 to 24 months)
LOCATION: Good Beginnings’ Administrative Office - 1-871 Dundas St., Woodstock, ON (Work base: on-site)
START DATE: April 2026
DURATION: 18 – 24 months (Leave Coverage)
HOURS: 35 hours per week
RATE OF PAY: $29.88/hour after successful probationary period

Good Beginnings Day Nursery Woodstock Inc. is seeking a highly detail-oriented and professional Human Resources Coordinator, with various practical experience in payroll, and benefits-related duties to join our team.


ABOUT US: Good Beginnings is a non-profit Child Care organization with a Board of Directors comprised of parents/guardians and community representatives who are committed to providing high quality early learning and child care programs to the children and families of Oxford County since 1986.


POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Finance and Human Resources, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing full payroll functions within Dayforce software, benefits administration, workplace injury and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is confident, organized, and thrives in a deadline-driven environment. This role actively promotes Good Beginnings’ values of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging and ensures adherence to the policies established by the Board of Directors, regulations under the Child Care and Early Years Act, and Confidentiality Agreements.


Key Responsibilities
 Full-cycle payroll processing using Dayforce
 Timesheet review, payroll deductions, ROEs, T4s, vacation tracking, and termination/severance calculations
 Employee onboarding and HRIS administration
 Benefits enrollment, billing reconciliation, LTD/STD claims, and employee leave management
 Accommodation and Return-to-Work coordination
 Administration of CWELCC, WEG, and other government funding reports and reconciliations
 Monthly/quarterly reporting and wage analysis support
 Workplace injury reporting and JHSC documentation
 General HR compliance and staff support

 

Core Competencies & Professional Attributes
• Exceptional computer skills; especially Microsoft Excel, and the ability to adapt to various in-house software programs
• Ability to analyze and present numerical data in tables, spreadsheets, and forms
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee information
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly spelling and grammar

Qualifications
 Post-secondary education in Human Resources (CHRP an asset)
 Minimum 3 years’ experience in payroll and/or HR administration
 Experience with Dayforce strongly preferred
 Strong Excel and data analysis skills
 Excellent organizational, communication, and confidentiality skills
 Ability to manage deadlines in a high-volume environment

Compensation and Benefits

RATE OF PAY: $29.88/hour after successful probationary period
