Job Description

School Age Program Supervisor (Contract – 18 months)
Location: 871 Dundas St. Woodstock, ON (ability to commute to Tavistock required)
Start Date: April 2026
Hours: 35 hours per week (flexible availability between 6:30AM – 6:00PM required)
Duration: Contract of up to 18-months (Leave Coverage)
Rate of Pay: $30.60 per hour to start, with increase after successful probationary period

ABOUT US: Good Beginnings is a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors comprised of parents/guardians and
community representatives who are committed to providing high quality early learning and child care programs to the
children and families of Oxford County since 1986.


Position Summary: The School Age Program Supervisor provides leadership, mentorship, and staffing coordination to
Educators that deliver Before and After School programs attached to schools throughout Oxford County. This role requires a flexible schedule between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., including the ability to work split shifts to supervise both morning and afternoon programs across multiple locations. The Supervisor must be willing to commute throughout Oxford County and be responsive to early morning call-ins, last-minute staffing needs, and situations requiring direct program coverage.


Key Responsibilities
Mentoring & Communication
 This role actively promotes Good Beginnings’ values of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging and ensures adherence to the policies established by the Board of Directors, regulations under the Child Care and Early Years Act, and Confidentiality Agreements.
 Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with staff, school personnel, children, and families to support communication and collaboration.
 Support and mentor employees, and ensure all documentation required is kept secure
 Monitor curriculum programming to ensure it is effectively implemented
 Conduct performance check-ins and evaluations in alignment with organizational policies
 Address staff concerns professionally, using reflective practice and supportive coaching strategies
 Provide direct program support when necessary to ensure continuity of care


Administration
 Work alongside Human Resources to ensure all staffing needs and Child Care Licensing Requirements are handled with the utmost importance (including Director Approvals)
 Review scheduling needs, and arrange for Supply Educator coverage
 Manage and facilitate the registration process including monitoring the OneList and orientation with families
 Acquire and monitor documentation of all children, and families
 Ensure proper preparation and planning for annual licensing reviews and reporting submissions, as needed
 Support a positive team culture by facilitating regular team check-ins and contributing to ongoing staff development initiatives

Experience Required

Mandatory Requirements: We are seeking a confident, reliable, and engaged leader with strong professional judgment
and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be required to possess the following qualifications:
 Degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education (or Ministry-approved equivalent)
 Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) if applicable
 Strong leadership, decision-making, and team management abilities, with a proven ability to supervise staff and resolve workplace issues professionally
 Minimum two years’ supervisory or administrative experience in a licensed Child Care or School-Age program
 Strong working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), including licensing standards
 Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general administrative tasks

Compensation and Benefits

Rate of Pay: $30.60 per hour to start,
