Job Description
The Seasonal Labourer in Parks & Facilities (P&F) is essential for the safe and efficient operation of all parks, outdoor spaces, cemeteries, and associated facilities for the Township of Norwich.
Reporting to the Manager of Parks & Facilities, the seasonal labourer will be responsible for maintaining Township parks and facilities, operating landscaping equipment, preparing facilities for special events, maintaining acceptable standards for cleanliness, routine maintenance, and other assigned duties as required. This position has a variable schedule, consisting of both daytime and evening hours, and will include some weekends. Statutory holidays may also be required.
The Township of Norwich is located within the County of Oxford in the heart of Southwestern Ontario, with beautiful countryside, villages, and productive farmland.

Education
Experience Required
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Current certificate in Standard First Aid and CPR is preferred.
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act is required.
- Experience safely operating various pieces of equipment and hand tools is preferred.
- Ability to follow procedures, instructions, and take directions.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Ability to perform physical work such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying.
- A valid class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s Licence is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Compensation and Benefits
The current hourly wage is $18.40 and is based on a 40-hour workweek. OMERS pension is offered for this position.
