Job Description

True Masons Inc. based out of Tillsonburg Ontario is currently looking to hire a confident, positive, enthusiastic, multi talented individual to join their team. We do a wide range of jobs and each one is different keeping your mind exercised. Jobs such as custom decorative driveways, porches, garages, sidewalks, pool decks, curbs, shop floors up to 10k sq.ft . We prefer to do all the prep work from excavation to final cleaning & sealing.

- setting grades with string lines and lasers, placing /raking gravel and compacting gravel bases

- carpentry skills forming with cordless saws, drills/ any kind of power tools

- placing and tying rebar grids and welded wire mesh

-  raking, screeding, Darby finishing, mag floating, steel troweling, edging, sidewalk

-  be able to judge the concrete and know when the proper time is to start finishing

-  able to provide finishes such as broom, spin float, sponge, various patterns of stampcrete, exposed aggregate, power troweling

-  rake final grade and pack existing base material

-  setting forms with lasers, ranging string lines, reading tape measures, using 3’ 4’ 5’ to square forming, chalking lines

-  custom forming stairs with step liners, curbs and anything imaginable

-  layout grids of rebar and mesh and cutting to size properly, drilling and anchoring rebar, tying rebar

-  setting height pins

-  running / using a wide range of hand tools and power tools

-  running gas powered walk behind saws and cut-off concrete saws

-  must be able to clean up a job site using rakes, brooms, shovels at the end of everyday

-  must be able to listen to directions and brainstorm to help efficiency

-  must be able to accept constructive criticism and also voice own opinions constructively

-  any certified training courses are a bonus

- willing to teach new candidate that is willing to learn

Experience Required

Requirements are as follows

-  Must be willing to do hard manual labor

-  must be willing to learn from owner and existing employees to do all the tasks listed below

-  must have a valid / G class license, with clear drivers abstract 

-  drive full sized pick up truck with trailers, must know how to properly connect trailers to trucks and reverse trailers

Compensation and Benefits

-  starting wages will be based on experiences / attitude to all the above listed, $22-$30 per hour or more to the right candidate, overtime available after 44 hours, no Sunday work, Saturday work is available
