If selected for an interview, candidates are encouraged to bring the following supporting materials:

  • Records of policing achievements and commendations

  • Two or more letters of reference related to employment or community service

  • Certificates or letters from community involvement or volunteer organizations

  • Certificates of achievement or specialized training

  • Copies of valid policing certifications

  • Recent performance evaluations

Providing these documents helps demonstrate your experience, professionalism, and readiness to transition to WPS.

Hiring Process for Experienced Officers

The selection process for experienced officers is designed to ensure operational readiness, professionalism, and alignment with WPS standards.

The process may include, but is not limited to, the following steps:

  • Interview with Senior Officers
    A formal interview with members of WPS Command or the recruiting panel.

  • Psychological Testing and Interview
    Conducted by a qualified psychologist to assess mental fitness for duty.

  • In-House Fitness Test
    Assessment of physical readiness and ability to meet operational demands.

  • Third-Party Medical Examination
    A comprehensive medical assessment to ensure fitness for service.

  • Background Investigation
    A detailed review including, but not limited to:

    • Employment and service record verification

    • Educational credential verification

    • Reference checks (professional and personal)

    • Credit history review

    • Home visit and security clearance

    • Equitable Hiring
