About the Opportunity!

 

This existing vacancy reports to the Purchasing Manager and is responsible for managing supplier relationships and ensuring the reliable supply of materials and services that support production and customer delivery.

This role balances daily purchasing execution with supplier performance management, working closely with internal stakeholders to improve cost, delivery, and supply reliability.

 

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

 

  • Manage procurement activities for assigned commodities from demand planning through delivery
  • Issue purchase orders based on SAP planning signals, Kanban replenishment, requisitions, and operational requirements
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively address risks related to lead time, delivery, quality, and capacity
  • Evaluate supplier pricing, capabilities, and lead times to support sourcing and cost improvement initiatives
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve supply and technical issues
  • Expedite critical orders and coordinate recovery plans for supply disruptions
  • Maintain accurate MRP data including lead times, country of origin, and tariff classifications
  • Resolve vendor receiving discrepancies, invoice variances, and non-conforming material issues with suppliers
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve purchasing efficiency and supplier reliability

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

WHAT DO YOU BRING?

· 

  • 3+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or a professional certification such as CSCP is an asset
  • Experience managing suppliers and coordinating domestic and international procurement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery priorities
  • Comfortable working in an ERP/MRP environment; SAP experience is an asset
  • Strong financial acumen: budget development, cost control.
  • Proven communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills when working with suppliers and internal teams
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making 
  • Adaptable with a growth mindset and willingness to learn, grow and develop
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or within a team setting.
  • Aptitude for critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making

Compensation and Benefits

The Ontario pay range for this position is $62,000 CAD to $68,000 CAD annually. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate's experience, skills, knowledge, and other job-related factors.
